A growing construction and residential development business is entering a major new phase of expansion under new ownership and a modern, forward‑thinking leadership team. As the company scales, we're strengthening the finance function and introducing clearer processes, reporting and controls to support a more structured, data‑driven operation.

We're now looking for a Management Accountant to join the team. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership, where you'll prepare monthly management accounts, support project reporting, complete reconciliations and provide accurate financial insight to senior management.

You'll play a key part in improving processes, strengthening controls and helping build a more robust finance function as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Complete balance sheet and control account reconciliations
  • Support VAT returns, CIS checks and compliance
  • Assist with project reporting, cost tracking and financial analysis
  • Work closely with the Financial Director to improve processes and reporting structures
  • Support ledger functions and help strengthen financial accuracy across the department
  • Provide clear financial insight to operational teams
  • Assist with audit, tax and year‑end preparation
  • Handle ad‑hoc finance tasks as the business evolves

About You:

  • AAT Qualified or Part‑Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA
  • Experience preparing management accounts and month‑end schedules
  • Strong reconciliations experience and attention to detail
  • Confident with Excel and modern accounting systems
  • Ideally exposure to construction or property, though not essential
  • Analytical, organised and comfortable in a fast‑paced, growing environment
  • Someone who enjoys improving processes and building structure

What's in it for You:

  • £50,000 - £60,000 salary
  • Opportunity to join a business in a major growth phase
  • Real scope to influence processes, reporting and financial structure
  • Supportive leadership team and strong progression potential
  • A role with variety, ownership and visibility across the wider business
