A renowned and respected engineering consultancy with a strong presence in highly regulated sectors is looking to appoint a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their industry leading team in Derby.

You will be embedded within a manufacturing team at a client site in Derby, playing a key role in improving production processes, supporting operations, and driving efficiency across manufacturing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse existing manufacturing processes and develop improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Provide hands-on technical support to resolve production issues
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to meet industry and customer standards
  • Design and introduce new tools, equipment, and production methods
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new manufacturing processes
  • Monitor production performance data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry and safety regulations

About You

  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering role, ideally within a highly regulated industry such as nuclear or defence
  • Strong understanding of safety and compliance standards (nuclear experience desirable)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in process design and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Strong project management and organisational abilities
