You will be embedded within a manufacturing team at a client site in Derby, playing a key role in improving production processes, supporting operations, and driving efficiency across manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse existing manufacturing processes and develop improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Provide hands-on technical support to resolve production issues
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to meet industry and customer standards
- Design and introduce new tools, equipment, and production methods
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new manufacturing processes
- Monitor production performance data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry and safety regulations

About You
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering role, ideally within a highly regulated industry such as nuclear or defence
- Strong understanding of safety and compliance standards (nuclear experience desirable)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in process design and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
- Strong project management and organisational abilities
