Internal Sales Account Manager

Are you currently working in an electrical wholesaler, cable distributor or similar B2B trade environment and ready to move into a role where relationships, service, and account growth are genuinely valued?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Sales Account Manager to join a fast-growing electrical cable business at their Head Office in Bolton. This is a desk-based role focused on developing existing B2B accounts, increasing spend, and becoming a trusted point of contact for customers across the North West and beyond.

If you're used to dealing with contractors, installers, resellers, or trade customers and you understand quoting, margin, repeat orders, and service levels this role will feel very familiar.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of existing customers, handling enquiries, and proactively identifying opportunities to increase account value.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day relationships with existing B2B customers using CRM data
  • Proactively calling customers to identify up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Handling inbound enquiries and converting them into orders and long-term accounts
  • Producing quotes, negotiating pricing, and protecting margin
  • Building a strong pipeline of short- and long-term opportunities
  • Ensuring all customer activity, quotes, and opportunities are accurately logged on the CRM
  • Delivering high levels of customer service to drive repeat business and loyalty
  • Working to agreed KPIs, call volumes, sales targets, and GP objectives
  • Objection handling, closing sales, and developing long-term professional relationships

About You

This role will suit someone already working within electrical wholesale or cable distribution, or a closely related B2B sales environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • 2+ years' experience in internal sales, trade counter, account management, or B2B sales
  • Experience selling electrical, cable, or related technical products is desirable yet not essential
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience negotiating pricing and working to targets
  • Confidence speaking with decision makers and trade customers
  • Full sales cycle experience, from enquiry to close and ongoing account management
  • Strong IT skills (CRM, email, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A proactive, organised, and relationship-led approach to sales
