    You will be embedded within a manufacturing team at a client site in Derby, playing a key role in improving production processes, supporting operations, and driving efficiency across manufacturing activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Analyse existing manufacturing processes and develop improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
    • Provide hands-on technical support to resolve production issues
    • Develop and implement quality control procedures to meet industry and customer standards
    • Design and introduce new tools, equipment, and production methods
    • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new manufacturing processes
    • Monitor production performance data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
    • Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry and safety regulations

    About You

    • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering role, ideally within a highly regulated industry such as nuclear or defence

    Due to significant investment and long‑term programme growth, we're looking for experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers, with strong Siemens NX skills and a background in tooling, fixtures, jigs, lifting equipment or precision mechanical systems.

    Here, you will be joining a powerhouse of the engineering world, working with a talented, multi-disciplinary engineering team, and the chance to collaborate on cutting-edge, meaningful UK programmes with long‑term career potential.

    Key Responsibilities

    • 3D modelling and 2D detailing in Siemens NX
    • Managing design data via Teamcenter (PLM)
    • Full lifecycle tooling design: requirements → concept → DfM → release
    • Producing assemblies, sub‑assemblies, BOMs and detailed drawings
    • Applying GD&T to ASME Y14.5 / BS standards
    • Supporting gated design reviews and client presentations
    • Ensuring compliance with safety legislation and UKCA requirements

    What You'll Bring

    Essential:

    • Strong Siemens NX (3D + 2D)
    • Proven tooling / jigs / fixtures / lifting equipment design experience
    • Teamcenter or similar PLM experience
    • Solid DfM understanding
    • Confident with GD&T

    Desirable:

    • Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defence, heavy engineering, oil & gas
    • FEA exposure (Abaqus, ANSYS, MathCAD or hand calcs)
    • Manufacturing or toolmaker background
