Sales & Purchase Ledger Clerk

Due to expansion, an opportunity now exists for a proven Sales and Purchase Ledger Clerk with excellent sales support and finance admin skills to join a progressive business with genuine career prospects, (sage experience is essential).

To ensure that sales invoices are raised in an accurate and timely manner, fees are collected and administered on a timely basis and that fee arrears are dealt with in accordance with Company policy. To process purchase orders, invoices and expenses, assist with administration as part of the finance team utilising Sage software.

Sales & Purchase Ledger Clerk Responsibilities:
*Logging, maintaining and filing purchase invoices.
*Investigating purchase ledger queries.
*Creating company reports from Sage50.
*Liaising with suppliers regarding payment queries.
*Maintaining the accuracy of supplier & customer details on Sage 50.
*Processing personal and company expenses.
*Accurately post cash receipts and adjustments to the sales ledger.
*Raise refunds to customers.
*Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure the smooth running of accounts.
*Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting debts of company debtors.
*Evaluating new credit requests and reviewing customers' credit ratings.
*Setting up of terms and conditions of credit.
*Ensuring timely payment of debts.
*Following up payments as needed.
*Negotiating re-payment plans.
*Responding to relevant client enquiries.
*Processing and reconciliation of sales invoices.
*Checking/logging and raising customer credit requests.
*Checking and posting of receipts to accounting systems.
*Preparation of statements for customers.
*Reducing debtors' 'Days Sales Outstanding' DSO.
*Providing administrative support to finance team.
*Keeping close watch on debtor account balances and the management of aged debt.
*Time Management - To be present at specified start time.
*Adhere to allocated break times and return promptly from comfort breaks.
*To work safely and within company Health and Safety Guidelines
*Manual handling - to move items safely as instructed.
*Respect other team members and abide by the Company Culture and Team Promises.

It is essential that the Sales & Purchase Ledger Clerk has the following skills and experience;

*Previous experience in a similar role.
*Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
*Minimum 1 + years' experience of Sage 50.
*Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
*GCSE English and Maths grade C or above or equivalent.
*Strong organisational skills.
*Analytical mind with high attention to detail.
*Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Problem solving skills

Sales & Purchase Ledger Clerk Support Salary
£24,000 - £27,000 DOE + Holidays + Company Pension

This is a full time opportunity with career progression and NOT a temporary or contract role.
