Assistant Development Surveyor

We are looking for a tenacious and committed Assistant Development Surveyor who will be degree qualified from within a built environment discipline such as Real Estate Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying (MRICS is not a requirement) and who has 1-3 years of industry experience.

Our client is an award-winning UK investment property developer and operator based in city centre Manchester. They sell high-end investment property, predominantly in the Manchester with huge growth plans who can offer candidates an exciting and dynamic working environment, alongside exceptional opportunity for personal progression.

In line with their plans for growth they are currently seeking a passionate, organised and committed Assistant Development Surveyor to work with their UK offices.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Primary role requirement: Project Management - driving development projects forward to completion
* Understanding of development process from start to finish
* Undertake market research and strategic development appraisals for property and land
* Provide guidance on the suitability of developing property in order to maximise financial return from all sites/ schemes
* Due diligence process for purchasing property including site feasibility studies
* Property and asset management including insurance requirements
* Professional party instruction & liaison
* Assist with agency instructions, including the preparation of particulars, viewings and reporting
* Represent the company and its services to clients and within the business community
* Strong organisational skills, proficient in note taking and report writing
* Ability to maintain accurate and up to date communication logs

Key Knowledge:

* Good understanding of viability appraisals and feasibility studies
* Good understanding of property funding routes/ information required for financing and refinancing
* Good knowledge of property purchase / sale and lease negotiation
* Knowledge of the legal and planning processes involved in property transactions

Person Profile

* A proactive and highly motivated self-starter, confident with a strong personality
* Degree qualified in a built environment discipline such as Real Estate Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying (MRICS is not a requirement)
* Minimum 1- 3 years industry experience
* In depth knowledge of property market / market drivers/ influences
* Proven experience in a similar client-side role within the property development sector
* High level of numeric competency
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE + Benefits
