Production Manager

Due to huge investment and ongoing expansion and an opportunity has arisen for a proven Production Manager to join a company who are experiencing incredible growth. Based out of their Head Office in Blackburn, the ideal Production Manager will lead a production team to ensure zero harm at all times and production colleagues are fully trained within occupational health and safety guidelines.

Production Manager responsibilities:
*Manage all production resource to ensure efficient production activities; whilst maintaining all Health, Safety and Environmental compliance requirements and meeting product and process quality specifications
*Drive continuous improvement activities within the value stream to ensure process optimisation, assurance of product quality and the reduction of scrap and process waste
*Champion all business lean practices within standard daily work routines in the production unit such as, Managing for Daily Improvement, 5S, Total Productive Maintenance, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Root Cause Problem Solving, Rapid Improvement Events
*Ensure that all non-conforming product has timely and applicable rectification actions
*Ensure all processes and procedures are relevant and adhered to at all times, and product quality checks are carried out to the correct methodology & frequency
*Carry out performance reviews for Shift Managers and foster a positive team spirit within the production unit and cross functionally
*Maintain all KPI departmental information and endorsing best practice principles in the workplace - Manage departmental spend in line with budgetary control requirements

The working week is 40 hours per week across split shifts either 6am - 2.00pm or 2pm - 10.00pm

Production Manager profile

As the Production Manager you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
*HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline
*You will be able to demonstrate a successful career in a Production Managers role
*Excellent knowledge of lean Six Sigma practices
*Leadership of medium teams within unionised production environment essential
*Thorough knowledge of IT systems with sound skills in Excel & Word & PowerPoint packages
*Ideally already trained to IOSH Managing Safely - Previous experience of carrying out risk assessments in the workplace and documenting safe working procedures
*Ideally from a production control background.
*Experience in change management and working in a lean manufacturing environment.
