Technical Engineering Manager - Buildings / Estates

Our client is looking for a Technical Engineering Manager to join their team as they continue their high growth journey. You will work nationally, working from HQ 2 days per week in Manchester. You will be responsible for working with the building maintenance teams across a portfolio of luxury purpose build student accommodation (PBSA).

You will work across multiple buildings, up to 20 currently, and growing 3 every year across the UK and Europe. You will be the main point of contact for all plant outages, ensuring 'down time is to a minimum and helping with projects such as new building handovers and building manuals.

The main responsibilities of the Technical Engineering Manager are:

*To support and provide assistance with all technical queries in regards to the overall maintenance of all aspects of the estate, - mechanical systems, air conditioning, CHP's, electrical systems, public health, BMS Systems, Fire detection and fire/smoke ventilation systems
*Liaise with external suppliers/contractors on all projects
*Contribute new ideas and initiatives towards the efficient running of the estate, and follow up with site inspection visits
*Technical training and development of the estate team as requested by the on-site Facilities Manager
*Adhere to statutory obligations and quality and best practice guidelines
*Support the teams to proactively reduce energy consumption on site.
*To carry out all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
*To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
*Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the estate and/or its students, staff and visitors to Line Manager
*Identify hazards, defects; to ensure compliance with applicable codes, law, working practices and health and safety
*Manage the project of premobilisation of all new sites to include building handover, asset lists and warranties, and staff training.
*To be responsible for the production of building manuals for all new buildings, and review existing manuals on current buildings
*To create and deliver emergency disaster training plans.

The Ideal Technical Engineering Manager will have:

*Have achieved a qualification in an Engineering Discipline
*Detailed and specialist knowledge of the testing & commissioning of Engineering Services and management for a minimum of 2 years
*Budget management experience
*Requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the environment
*Practical knowledge of building maintenance and plant rooms
*Methodical problem-solving mindset to analyse problems, diagnose issues and willingness to share knowledge
*Excellent interpersonal, organisational, planning and communication skills
*High integrity and honesty in all dealings
*Good attention to detail
*Ability to work under pressure
*A full driving license
*Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
*Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
*Able to complete projects in a timely manner
*Excellent contractual time management skills

Working Hours are Monday - Friday 08:00AM - 17:00PM
