Supply Chain & Procurement
£30000 - £35000 per annum + DOE + benefits

We are looking for an adaptable and commercial Buyer to help improve our clients already established procurement function.

The ideal Buyer will supporting the Procurement Manager to control spend from all external suppliers ensuring all goods and services are purchased on time, to specification and at the most competitive price available. Buyer Duties & Key Responsibilities:

oWork as part of the Supply Chain Team to support the overall achievement of business goals.
oNegotiate with suppliers to deliver cost savings without compromising quality or service
oBuild sustainable relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
oRaise Purchase Orders against Requisitions
oCreate and manage, a back order report to keep production & stores up to date of agreed deliveries
oEnsure Supply Chain governance and compliance are adhered to
oBecome a procurement champion for the business, advising stakeholders of the procurement process and ensuring this is followed across the business
oLead sourcing activities, as & when required
oLead tendering activity to ensure maximum leverage is delivered to the business
oKeep abreast of the industry to ensure any risks or opportunities are identified at the earliest possible moment
oResolve any invoice disputes
oResolve any escalated supply issues
oPerformance manage allocated suppliers by introducing SLA's & KPI's
oIdentify & drive any cost-reduction and/or improved efficiency initiatives

Buyer Qualifications and Skills

oThe ability to engage and communicate with all levels
oSelf-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
oDemonstrate commercial acumen
oMin 2 years experience of buying, preferably within a manufacturing environment
oThe ability to identify opportunities, present recommendations & implement action plan to deliver
oProblem solver
oThe ability to support cultural change.
oSAP knowledge
oResilient & determined
