Technical Support Consultant

Our client is a global leader now looking to recruit a Technical Support Consultant based at their Head Office in Sale, Cheshire. This career opportunity will give you the responsibility to troubleshoot issues within our clients solution installed in a customer environment across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Technical Support Consultant Key responsibilities

*Provide technical support to customers, following established procedures, within a timely manner, ensuring limited downtime for the customer
*Handle and resolve customer complaints effectively
*Monitor the number of incident tickets and manage the incidents: investigation, additional tests, resolution and closure or escalation and follow-up
*Participates in global support in collaboration with other internal support engineers and EMEA colleagues & interact with other services within lab informatics e.g. R&D
*Identify issues reported and prioritize accordingly
*Systematically resolve problems whilst also researching alternatives solutions, using the help desk system and/or problem management software
*Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems.
*Become expert in all aspects of the LIMS standard products including core functionality, Designer tools and the LIMS programming languages
*Ability to take on some configuration of the LIMS products and also to present and lead specific training sessions

Technical Support Consultant Requirements:

*A degree qualification or above in Computer Science, IT or related
*Experience within a similar role
*Experience in one or more of the following: C#, .NET Framework, ADO.NET, Visual Studio, JavaScript ,SQL Server/Oracle would be advantageous
*Knowledge of operating systems, Event Viewer, IIS Configuration, NLB, etc.
*Must be customer service oriented, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
*Experience with working in a dynamic fast-paced support environment, managing multiple tasks
*Ability to work independently and in a team environment
*Attention to detail and accuracy
*Strong ability to troubleshoot software problems - identify and solve problems creatively and effectively
*Up-to-date knowledge of latest trends, techniques, and technologies in this space

Technical Support Consultant Remuneration

£30,000 to £40,000 depending on experience Plus excellent benefits
