![]() Sainsbury's is to create up to 20,000 seasonal jobs to meet the high demand from shoppers over the Christmas and New Year period. Of these 20,000 seasonal colleagues the supermarket expects that at least 1,000 will be retained in permanent positions. Helen Webb, Sainsbury's Director of Retail HR, commented "Last year nearly 23m shoppers visited Sainsbury's stores in the week before Christmas and the huge numbers of customers means that our in store colleagues always have something different to do. In exchange for their hard work we offer successful candidates flexible working hours and a competitive salary."
