Iceland signs £11.5 million IT outsourcing deal Tue, 10th March 2009 Iceland signs £11.5 million IT outsourcing dealIceland has signed a seven-year outsourcing deal worth over £11.5 million with Getronics that is a renewal of an existing contract that will run until 2015. It includes 24x7 server hosting and systems management, service desk provision and also desk-side PC and Blackberry support. The fixed annual contract will be implemented throughout the UK.The new contract fits into Iceland's existing technology plans and also includes technical architecture, database support and a managed print service. Getronics has built up a level of expertise through a relationship with Iceland that spans a number of years. Mark Pearson, IS director at Iceland, says: "The changes made to the contract have provided us with stability and security in terms of our IT platform in the current financial climate. Getronics will also provide increased support in areas vital to our business such as an Anti Virus Service and Blackberry support for our end user community on the move".
